Hey all. Jeanne (lphybrid) asked me to post this message:

Jeanne, one of Amelia's long-time friends, and Jeanne's mother, Marcia, have just started training to walk half of the San Diego Rock n Roll Marathon on June 3rd in honor of Amelia and all others who have fought cancers. Both are seeking to raise a combined total of $5900 and would love if Amelia's LJ friends could help out!

Please help Jeanne and her mom reach their fundraising goals as they join the Leukemia and Lymphona Society's Team in Training program to help find a cure for blood cancers by clicking the link below:
Jeanne's Page:
Marcia's Page:

75% of Team in Training fundraising goes STRAIGHT to research new drugs/treatments, and STRAIGHT into the hands of blood cancer patients. All donations are tax deductable so make sure to keep your receipt! The goal is to make a combined $5900, but we're hoping to get much much more. Every little bit helps!! Please pass this news to anyone you feel would be interested in helping this great cause.

Also, Jeanne let me know that Amelia's mom's partner's stepmom (there's a good string of possessives for you) is also participating. I don't have a link to her page, but if I find it, I'll add it to this post.

In other Leukemia and Lymphoma Society fundraising news:

For those of you in the Eugene area, the UofO Asian Pacific American Student Union is holding a fashion show/date auction in the EMU on 2/11 to raise money from 6-9pm.

I don't know what all is going to be involved, having gathered all this info from a poster, but it's definitely a good cause, so y'all should consider stopping by.

While I'm at it, a link about the L&L Society's Light the Night walk. Which is, to my understanding, like Relay for Life only Leukemia and Lymphoma specific.

Speaking of which, I should mention that the Eugene/Springfield Relay For Life has, to my understanding, started their annual fundraising drive. The dates for the Relay itself are July 27-28, 2007.

I don't think it's too late to form a team for either of those last two events, so I encourage you all to get involved with that if you are so inclined.

So there are a few ways (with various levels of involvement and commitment)you can help fight a really nasty disease and make your karma twinkle. (See usericon to see how great you'll feel doing good)
