This is what I know so far:
What I have is Acute Myleoid Leukemia. I am stable right now, which means that my condition isn't deteriorating. Everything in my blood is normal and healthy except for the platelets and the leukemia itself. The kind that I have is one of the easier ones to cure, with a huge percent chance of survival.
I'm avoiding chemo if I can. I am seeing a homeopathic doctor on tuesday and then I am going back to my oncologist, Dr. Roa, on wednesday and then I will decide on a treatment. (she is an amazing doctor who looks like Michael Michelle from ER. I love her).
I have cried and cried and cried and prayed just as much. I know that I will get through this. I love you all and you make me sooo happy, each and every one of you.
The biggest thing right now is fatigue. I'm not quitting school, I'm going to try to work as much as I can, and I am still doing winter guard (except for tonight because yesterday I got a big fucking needle in my back for the biopsy. But they gave me a morphine lollypop. It would have been good except it was coconut flavored). My teachers are handling it well, and augmenting the curriculum for me when need be. Like I said, I am staying in Eugene - not only am I staying in school, but the best doctors are here, so it would be silly to seek treatment elsewhere.
I love you all and you are wonderful and supportive and just send good vibes. And chocolate. :-)
